Bridges For Music was started in 2013, with a view to connecting the global music industry and its resources to the local at-risk communities in South Africa.

We had seen local leaders trying to make a change through music but lacking the necessary resources.

Whether in the favelas of Brazil or the townships of South Africa, music has always been present, a means of expression and a facilitator for change. Focusing on the power of big artists and their ability to inspire the youth we were able to raise funds for education projects that would uplift their communities and bring real life-changing opportunities to those creative people who until then would have fallen through the cracks of an outdated and broken education system.

From our initial goals, our mission has evolved and today we focus on the most needed and practical aspects we can offer to the communities we work in: mental health and work readiness.

Today our extended goal envisions the opening of more Academies across Africa and the World.
