FAQ’s

What sort of bike should I participate on?

We recommend a traditional road bike, ideally one that you have trained on before to avoid any injuries and to be comfortable.

What if I do not have a bike, can you arrange one for me?

No problem we can arrange one for you at an additional cost of 150 GBP, we will bring the bike to the start point and take care of it upon arriving in Amsterdam. If you join half way through the cycle and would like us to bring a rental bike, the same fee will apply. Both traditional ride bike & e-bikes available.

How much experience do I need?

No prior experience is needed, but you will need to put some training in. We can provide a training program, easy to follow and realistic with busy lives.

How much training is required?

We recommend starting to train 2-3 months prior to the ride. A combination of some shorter sessions, even spinning classes 2-3 times per week, with some longer rides once a week when your schedule allows should be enough. The longer rides are to build endurance and to be comfortable with long hours on the saddle.

What if my pace is too slow or too fast for the rest?

We will have different groups going at different paces depending on everyone’s fitness and experience. These will be 30km/h avg, 26km/h avg and 22 km/h avg.

What if I have an accident?

Every rider needs to have insurance that covers both in UK and EU. We can point you in the right direction. All of our cycle leads are medically trained and we will medical assistance near by should there be any unfortunate incidents.

What if the weather is bad?

There is no bad weather, just bad clothing. You will need to be prepared for potential rain, although so far we have always had very decent weather. A long sleeve waterproof jacket will be provided as part of your entry, but we recommend having a rain cover, rain trouser and waterproof covers for your feet.

What sort of kit will I need?

  • Cycling Jersey Short Sleeve
  • Rain Jacket & Trousers
  • Cycling Bibs ( good to have ridden lots on them to make sure you are comfortable)
  • Long Cycling Bibs or Leg Warmers are good to have just in case
  • Arm Warmers
  • Helmet
  • Sunglasses
  • Gloves
  • Cycling Shoes with cleats (it’s good to get used to these before the ride, you will save up to 30% of power using them vs normal shoes

What if my bike breaks down?

We will have some spare bikes on the support vehicles and a bike mechanic to help. Your bike can be repaired in the meantime at the nearest shop.

Luggage Support Vehicle

We have several support vehicles and one specially for transporting our luggage that follows the tour. We do ask that pack light as space is limited.

Upon Arrival at Amsterdam Dance Event

We like to celebrate the arrival with ADE, friends and supporters. After this you are free to go about your own plans. You can collect your luggage directly from the support vehicle. If you have your bike with you and it’s not returning to London then please arrange for some help as the support vehicle will not be able to stay long.
