Chairperson (Board Position)

The Chairperson provides strategic leadership to the Board of Bridges for Music, ensuring strong governance, clear direction and alignment with the organisation’s mission as it expands its local and global impact.

Working closely with the Executive Director and board members, the Chairperson facilitates effective board functioning, supports long-term strategy and ensures that governance standards, accountability and ethical leadership remain central to the organisation’s growth.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing leadership to the Board and setting the governance agenda

  • Chairing board meetings and ensuring productive, focused discussions

  • Supporting strategic oversight and long-term organisational planning

  • Acting as a key advisor to the Executive Director

  • Representing the organisation at a senior level when appropriate

  • Ensuring strong governance, compliance, and board effectiveness

We are seeking an experienced leader with strong governance insight, strategic thinking capability and a commitment to social impact and creative education. Prior board leadership or executive-level experience is highly valued.

Treasurer (Board Position)

The Treasurer supports the financial stewardship and sustainability of Bridges for Music, helping ensure strong oversight, transparency, and responsible governance as the organisation grows its impact globally.

Working with the board and leadership team, the Treasurer helps review financial reports, budgets, and long-term financial planning, while supporting sound financial decision-making aligned with the organisation’s mission.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Reviewing financial statements and budgets

  • Supporting financial planning and risk awareness

  • Advising on financial governance and compliance

  • Contributing to board discussions and strategic decisions

We are looking for someone with financial expertise and a commitment to social impact and creative education.

Governance Support

Governance Support members contribute to strengthening board effectiveness, accountability, and good governance practices across the organization.

Working with the Chairperson and board members, this role helps ensure governance processes remain clear, effective, and aligned with Bridges for Music’s mission and growth.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting governance processes and board coordination

  • Advising on policies, structures, or compliance practices

  • Helping improve board effectiveness and communication

  • Contributing to strategic governance discussions

We are looking for individuals with governance awareness, organizational experience, or nonprofit leadership insight, and a passion for education, creativity, and community development.

Fundraising / Donor Acquisition Support Committee

The Fundraising and Donor Acquisition Support Committee helps strengthen Bridges for Music’s financial sustainability by supporting fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and partnership development.

Working alongside the board and leadership team, this committee contributes ideas, networks, and guidance to help grow philanthropic support for the academy, programs, and long-term organizational development.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting fundraising strategy and donor outreach

  • Connecting the organization to potential partners or supporters

  • Advising on donor engagement and stewardship approaches

  • Contributing to fundraising initiatives and campaigns
